3/8" Surface Course for 0-500
A 3/8″ surface course, also known as a wearing course, is a layer of asphalt used for the top surface of a pavement. In the context of “0-500 asphalt mix”, this refers to the maximum aggregate size (3/8 inch) for the asphalt mix used in the surface course. This mix is typically used for areas with lighter traffic, like driveways, parking lots, and some trails.
